Abdomen Ultrasound

An abdomen ultrasound is a safe and painless radiological method used to examine the organs and other structures within the abdominal cavity. It is performed when there is suspicion of pathological changes in the abdomen (such as organ abnormalities, tumors, stones, free fluid, etc.) and can also be used preventively as part of regular check-ups. Since it does not use harmful ionizing radiation, it is safe even during pregnancy.

SEND INQUIRYWhen is an abdominal ultrasound needed?
This examination is performed in cases of acute or chronic symptoms in the abdominal area that may indicate problems within the abdominal cavity.

Ultrasound can detect:
- Cysts and tumors
- Abscesses
- Free fluid
- Blood clots or aneurysms

How is an abdominal ultrasound performed?
Taking a medical history The examination begins with a discussion with a specialist who will determine the need for the test based on your symptoms. A detailed description of your symptoms and medical history is necessary for assessing the need for further tests and for accurate diagnosis.
Examination procedure The procedure involves removing clothing from the abdomen. A water-based gel is applied to the ultrasound probe to ensure clear transmission of sound waves between the probe and the tissue. The probe is then gently moved over the abdomen to display the structures of the abdominal cavity. The procedure is completely painless. The images of organs and blood vessels are displayed in real time on a computer, and the physician will generate a report based on these images.
Completion of the examination Images are displayed in real-time on a computer, and the physician provides a report and verbal instructions after the examination. The entire examination takes up to approximately 20 minutes.
