Chin and neck correction
addresses changes in the neck that occur due to aging. Neck rejuvenation depends on several factors. On one hand, these include congenital anatomical variations such as a poorly developed chin (microgenia, retrognathia) or a low position of the hyoid bone. On the other hand, the chin develops due to the loosening of skin tone, subcutaneous tissue, and the superficial neck muscle, the platysma, as a result of aging. Accumulation of excess fat in the superficial or deep layer beneath the muscle is an additional factor that alters the appearance of the neck over time and leads to the development of a “double chin” or submental fullness. A detailed analysis of all these factors leading to the altered appearance of the neck is essential for choosing the optimal rejuvenation method.
Depending on the degree and severity of changes in the neck, we use and combine
the following procedures individually:
- Surface skin tightening with radiofrequency
- Botox
- Laser lipolysis with skin tightening (“laser removal and liposuction of the double chin”)
- Submental lipectomy
- Neck lifting with/without face lifting
- Mentoplasty (implants, fat tissue)
Radiofrequency
Neck rejuvenation with radiofrequency uses electromagnetic waves that heat the subcutaneous tissue, leading to denaturation and contraction of collagen. Fibroblasts begin to produce new collagen and elastin, tightening the skin and reducing wrinkling. Ideal candidates are young individuals with early signs of skin laxity without excess fat tissue or platysma loosening. No anesthesia is needed for the treatment, which is repeated several times at monthly intervals, with results reflecting an annual treatment.
Botox
Rejuvenation of the neck in individuals with strong, hypertrophic wrinkles of the platysma muscle is performed using botulinum toxin injections – Botox.

Laser lipolysis of the neck under local anesthesia is used to dissolve surface fat tissue – laser removal and liposuction of the double chin. The laser beam is introduced under the skin through a 3-millimeter incision, causing fat cells to burst, turning into an emulsion and reorganizing collagen. The result is skin tightening of the neck.
Submental Lipectomy
For patients with more pronounced fat deposits, liposuction alone is insufficient. In such cases, for neck rejuvenation and chin shaping, as well as the removal of the double chin, we use a skin incision under the chin, which also allows the correction of muscle folds in the submental area.
Neck Lifting
Neck lifting, often combined with face lifting, is recommended for patients with pronounced skin folds on the face/neck, vertical platysma folds, and excess fat tissue. This type of neck tightening improves the neck contour as much as possible, removes the double chin, and shapes the angle between the chin and the lower part of the neck. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia, and the extent of the procedure is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Mentoplasty
Chin shaping is a delicate procedure that must consider both aesthetic and functional elements.
Small Chin
For a less pronounced chin, we use silicone implants to correct the profile, which are placed through an incision under the chin or inside the lower lip. Alternatively, instead of implants, we use the patient’s own fat tissue, usually taken from the abdomen, and inject it into the area of the underdeveloped chin. High-density hyaluronic acid fillers also provide excellent results.
